Maelle, a young professional, was looking for a flat to buy with her mother. The flat had to be one where her mother could live, short-term, while Maelle continued to rent, but long-term would be a good investment for both of them. Because of a potential future relocation to France, the flat had to work as a buy-to-let as well. She used Preview Studio to help her understand the potential of a prospective purchase, and the costs of unlocking that potential.

Rosalind and Matt owned businesses in both Bath and London, and regularly travelled between the two cities. Thinking about spending more time in London to be closer to family as they grow older, they initially searched for houses to buy before they hit upon the idea of expanding the flat above their London business premises. They used Preview Studio to look into the planning implications of making changes to their listed building before committing to a construction project and giving up their search for a separate London base.

James and Jane were had bought property in London decades ago, and then left for a new life overseas, letting out their London house in the meantime. Contemplating a return to London during their retirement years, they wanted to explore the potential to transform their run-down Victorian terraced house into a dream home they could live in for the rest of their lives. Jane had mobility issues, and was concerned about moving up and down the stairs. Our design allowed them to see what was possible, and get a sense of the scope - and cost - of the work that would be needed to truly transform a dark house dominated by small rooms, into a light, airy and open space for modern living.
